 建於明弘治十一年（西元1498年）的萬松書院，西元2002年重建，於清康熙五十五年（西元1717年）時，康熙帝題「浙水敷文」匾額，更名為敷文院。自明清以來，不少江南名士、學者才子都曾與此結下不解之緣，是為當時浙江的最高學府，杭州規模最大、歷時最久、影響最廣的書院。
