Hiking At Gunung Datuk(Rembau)

12/06/2011
Hiking at Gunung Datuk Rembau,Negeri Sembilan,MalaysiaGunung Datuk is located 20km from Rembau town,Seremban is the state capital of Negeri Sembilan.Min Altitude80m(262.46feet)Max Alditute880m (2900.00feet) above sea level and its certainly has a clear trail, going up to the summit as there is no markings trail path and is also a back and forth trekking and no need to hire for a guide to lead you up.

Meeting point was at food-court Semenyih at half past six in the morning, a dozen of buddies were waiting there when I was arrived at the site, every body were getting the gear,Started at Semenyih road on to Seremban old narrow road,a very early morning was no traffic jam because was on Sunday.Reached at Seremban pasar took a breakfast, gathering have a cup of coffee and contacted with another group which from Seremban hashers where location to meet at.
Bound to Rembau on the narrow road can seen a very high mountain, feeling so excited, followed on to the sign board arrived at Hutan Lipur Gunung Datuk friends from Seremban were already there, parking car was a litter bit problem thus we were too late.prepared to get start pay Rm5.00 for registered per-pax at the park rangers' office.
First step descending sloop down to a stream, crossing a small brige stopping by took a nice photo. In the trail there was nothing much could seen except in the forest and probably will hear monkey's calls.
Not even sunlight can breach the deep forestry trails. Oh! "watch up that  big rock is going to fall"......two lovely buddies hands againsted the rock wasn't it looking in reality on this picture!!
It certainly took some effort at least an hour above to reach at the summit if you are a hasher, as there are tree roots that formed the natural steps necessary for trekkers to ascent on the peak.

At the summit where the campsite is located, could seen many trekkers stayed over night at the campsite for a bird's eye view on sunrise in a very early morning.

There were few vertical ladders allowing visitors to climb on the 2nd tier to the top of the summit. At the peak you can seen 360 degrees of the view over the town of Rembau.
Took a rest on the flat boulders, enjoy the wonderful views & fresh breeze.

we supposed can be seen the Straits of Malacca, but the weather was partially haze on our visit.

Gethering a group shooting picture was a good feeling, but time is limitted, because others will take alternative turns coming up.

Strongly sun light make your skin burnt can't stay any longer, descending backed down using the vertical ladders to the campsite.

This was the most dangerous part of the trek every one should be precaution on their steps as any mistake would be disastrous.

Back and forth trekking consumed 3 hrs getting down to the foothill. The tough part was actually descending down to where you've started to the foothill.Took a bath waiting some others coming down, gethering party at foothill.
Friends from Seremban already planned go to Gunung Angsi for another climb but we went our separated way to back home.

On the halfway back to Seremban we have a good dinner at Seremban Restaurant,we cheers,we drink, and fulfill our stomach.......happy hiking at Gunung Datuk, and have a long journey home~~~~~~!!....on......on...!!
