珍寶海鮮舫於1976年10月正式落成,使用4年時間建設,耗資超過港幣3000萬。珍寶海鮮舫仿照中國宮廷設計,單是中國傳統手工藝飾物及壁畫已花費了600萬港元,皇帝龍椅更須時2年才完工。同年,另一艘海鮮舫海角皇宮落成,使香港仔的海鮮舫進入三國鼎立的情況。海角皇宮可容納1,500人,成為珍寶海鮮舫的有力對手。
