大寶森節是印度淡米爾人的重要節日，奉獻給戰神。通常在陽曆一月到二月間舉行慶祝。隨著印度人在全球的散居，現今馬來西亞、新加坡、南非、斯里蘭卡等淡米爾社群也都同樣慶祝。大寶森節的慶祝方式，總共是兩天，人們以黃色、橘色的花為穆魯甘獻祭，並且也身穿同樣色系的衣服,不論老少、穿印度服飾紗麗或牛仔褲，或扛卡瓦迪，他們只有一個目標，即祈求姆魯甘神的保祐、求懺悔，以及恢復精神自由。著名的據點是在馬來西亞的黑風洞。在大寶森節慶祝其間，信徒會準備一個載有穆魯甘神像的戰車，從吉隆坡步行而來，並且肩負著枷行爬上272層階梯到達山頂的穆魯甘廟，過程中也有行進的樂隊，並且大家會一面喊著“矛、矛、矛”，整個過程長達7或8個小時。
據說由於矛枷行的方式太怵目驚心，大寶森節曾經在印度本土被禁止一段時間，1930年後才慢慢由移居的社群將這些宗教節慶在本土復興。
